[External Opportunities: Call for Peer Reviewers] Roadmaps for Change Series
Are you experts on rural and urban roads, sustainability, decarbonisation, resilience, adaptation, circularity and nature-based solutions?
The International Road Federation (IRF) has opened a peer review process for two new draft guidelines under its Roadmaps for Change Series, developed as part of its voluntary commitment to the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035).
IRF, together with Arup, the Australian National Transport Research Organisation, FIKA, the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure, FIDIC, iRAP, ORIS Materials Intelligence, and WWF, is developing a series of practical guidelines for road agencies and authorities worldwide. The series provides strategic direction across four thematic areas: inclusive, safe, green and efficient roads. The roadmaps highlight policy actions, good industry practices, innovations and capacity needs to help achieve the vision of the UN Decade.
Two draft guidelines are now open for review: Inclusive Roads and Green Roads.
IRF is seeking experts to help identify gaps in principles, technical content, case studies and supporting evidence.
Review deadline: 31 July, 2026
To receive the peer review instructions and draft guidelines, contact IRF Head of Advocacy and Outreach Alice Yiu at ayiu@irfofficial.org.
Reviewers will be acknowledged by name in the published guidelines, which will be launched at the IRF 2026 Annual Conference (16–18 November, Geneva).
