At the 3rd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety in 2025, young leaders from over 49 countries gathered in Marrakech to launch the Global Youth Statement for Road Safety,  a collective demand for bold, urgent action.

This new Statement builds on the momentum of 2020, when young people boldly declared: Enough is Enough. Five years later, not enough has changed. Young people remain the most affected by unsafe mobility, yet their voices continue to be excluded from decision-making.

The 2025 Statement is a powerful call for safe, inclusive, and sustainable transport, built by youth, for youth and future generations.

The Global Youth Statement is available in three languages. Download and share it to spark conversations and actions in your community.

Our Three demands for change

These are the three key advocacy demands driving the Global Youth Statement 2025.

They represent what youth around the world are asking for, loud and clear.

This is the turning point.

We are halfway through the Decade of Action for Road Safety, but goals mean nothing without action. This section breaks down exactly what young people are demanding. It’s not about tweaks. It’s about transformation.

Promises and pledges aren’t enough. Road traffic crashes are still the #1 killer of young people. We demand bold, visible change — now.

+ Transport that’s affordable and within reach

Safe mobility is a right. Prioritise walking, cycling, and public transport for all.

--

+ Inclusive mobility

Women, children, people with disabilities, and other marginalised groups must be protected and empowered through thoughtful design and policy.

--

+ Road safety is a core societal value

Communities, businesses, and governments must work together to build a safe system that reflects a caring society.

--

+ Youth-led learning and action

Integrate road safety into school curriculums and fund youth-led projects for safer communities.

--

+ Accountability matters

Youth must be involved in the design, implementation, and monitoring of road safety policy. No more empty promises.
