[External Opportunities: Webinar Series] Road Safety Capacity Building Program

The fourth installment of the Road Safety Capacity Building Program webinar series, organised by the Asia - Pacific Road Safety Observatory will focus on strengthening understanding and implementation of the Safe System approach to road safety, with particular emphasis on the principles underpinning Vision Zero.

Delivered in partnership with Vision Zero Academy, the series will explore the evolution of the Vision Zero philosophy, the scientific foundations of the Safe System approach, and practical pathways for translating these principles into policy and implementation.

The webinar series will be moderated by Jessica Truong, Director of Lösningar.

Topics

The webinar series will focus on key concepts and practical discussions on the Safe System approach to road safety and the principles of Vision Zero. These will include sessions incorporating expert insights and discussion focused on:

  • The origins and principles of Vision Zero (17 March)
  • Speed management and human tolerance as a Safe System design parameter (31 March)
  • Shared responsibility under a Vision Zero framework (14 April)
  • Practical implementation of Vision Zero and the Safe System approach, including case studies and examples (28 April)

The webinar series is specifically designed to engage stakeholders from across Asia and the Pacific, with a key focus on:

  • Government representatives
  • Nongovernmental organizations
  • Private sector International organizations
  • Research institutions
  • Policymakers

Participants who attend all sessions will be eligible for a certificate of completion, subject to verification of attendance.

Series date and time

The webinar series runs every second Tuesday from 8:00 to 9:30 am CET, from 17 March to 28 April, 2026.
