HEY IM MOVING ON TWO WHEELS

The project encouraged Dushanbe authorities to adopt cycling as an official policy, highlighting its benefits for income, health, and education. Through a holistic approach, it empowered communities and promoted active mobility among youth. Key activities included distributing safety equipment, conducting surveys to address infrastructure barriers, providing first aid and traffic safety training, and petitioning for safer cycling paths. The project also advocated for cycling as a green transport mode through thematic rides, quests, and policy dialogues with local stakeholders.
ABOUT THE PROJECT LEAD
Dilshod is a member of the "Young generation of Tajikistan". He was semi-professional road and mountain bike cyclist and has traveled to many places by bicycle. He currently works as the assistant of the manager in road safety and post-crash response projects. The organisation works in the framework of popularisation of alternative transport (bicycle, walking and public transport) by promoting and demonstrating best practices in Dushanbe. "We try to instill a culture of cycling and draw the attention of decision makers and society that alternative transport environmentally friendly and does not require such large financial investments as a car (be it gasoline, repairs and maintenance, a garage)."

Engaged cyclists and the community through safety trainings, focus groups, and mass rides to promote bicycle culture.
Secured strategic engagement with the Mayor’s Office, the Traffic Police of Dushanbe, and various international and local partners such as the FIA Foundation and the Cycling Federation of Tajikistan.
Achieved tangible project outcomes, including the development of a Policy Report on alternative transport barriers, the installation of bicycle parking, and equipping cyclists with safety kits.
Advanced advocacy efforts by conducting policy dialogues, creating an online and offline petition, and maintaining an ongoing media campaign to generate support for sustainable urban mobility.
