RETORNO SEGURO A CLASES
BY ALDO GONZALEZ BARRERA FROM MEXICO
Retorno Seguro a Clases addressed the challenges for youth activists in Mexico. The implementation of Retorno Seguro a Clases led to road safety projects that addressed the issue of dangerous school zones. The project involved the schools in the generation of local diagnoses, tactical urbanism interventions, and in collaborating and working with authorities to guarantee a safe return to schools in a post-pandemic world.
The goal of the project was to contribute to the reduction of road traffic injuries around three different school zones in Mexico city, by implementing the "Caminito a la escuela" methodology as a sustainable post-COVID strategy by 2022.
