Youth for Motorcycle Safety: Promoting Helmet Laws and Safe Riding Practices in Bhubaneswar

Project theme: Motorcycle Safety

BY LIPSA MOHAPATRA

Youth for Motorcycle Safety is a youth-led initiative in Bhubaneswar aimed at reducing road crashes among young two-wheeler riders through helmet law advocacy, improved riding skills, and action against fake helmets. Mobilizing college students via the Youth Alliance for Road Safety (YARS) and in partnership with Forum for Prevention of Road Accidents (FPRA), the project will conduct campus campaigns, riding workshops, and a citywide awareness drive. It integrates community mobilization, policy engagement, and digital innovation to train 500 youth, impact 10 campuses, and reach over 100,000 online. This model prioritizes youth and motorcycle safety.
