A GLOBAL YOUTH MOVEMENT
The Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety unites individual youth and organisations for road safety and sustainable mobility. We offer you resources, skills, partnerships, and opportunities to take your ideas to the next level and maximise your impact. We believe that global and local action is needed to make the world’s roads safer for everyone. We connect it with related topics such as health, sustainable cities, climate change, education, poverty and equality.
We are passionate young people from across the world taking action on safe mobility issues. We’re championing meaningful youth participation in road safety and beyond and you are invited to be part of this movement! LOCAL ACTIONS WINNERS
The Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety has selected 15 projects to fund and support this 2025. These innovative local projects led by members of the Youth Coalition are set to improve road safety and sustainable mobility in their respective communities.
Each project addresses at least one or more of the four priorities:
Advocacy for Policy Change
Community Mobilisation & Awareness
Improving cities’ infrastructure and public spaces
Innovation, Data and Technology

At the 3rd World Youth Assembly in Marrakech, young leaders from 49 countries came together to call for urgent road safety and mobility justice action. The result is a powerful global declaration that captures youth priorities and solutions to transform transport systems.
The Statement calls on decision-makers to:
Double investment in youth-led road safety and sustainable mobility.
Boost multi-sectoral and intergenerational collaboration.
Establish effective and tangible accountability mechanisms.

The new Advocacy and Campaigns Toolkit titled “Changing Lanes: Youth Driving the Movement 4 Safer Mobility” is available! The toolkit presents a road map for young leaders that prepares them for their respective advocacy journeys at both the local and national levels, hopefully leading to their delegation to the 3rd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety happening in Marrakech, Morocco in February 2025. Young leaders will have access to strategic tools designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge to drive impactful advocacy change, sustain effective advocacy efforts, and lead transformative movements in their communities and beyond.

Road crashes are A GLOBAL CRISIS THAT NEED
ACTION RIGHT NOW
Young people matter. Today's generation of young people is the largest ever in our history. Over 3 billion people – nearly half of the world's population – are under the age of 25. Of these children and young people, more than 1000 die every day on the world’s roads. Tens of thousands more are injured.
Road traffic injuries have been the leading killer of young people worldwide for over a decade, so why are youth so often not included in preventing these tragedies?
Young people have a right to be adequately informed, consulted and empowered to contribute to preventing road traffic injuries.
