[External Opportunities: Capacity Development + Funding] Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure
The Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure (BICI) is inviting cities around the world to apply for a programme supporting the development of safer, more connected and more accessible cycling infrastructure.
Up to 25 cities will be selected for capacity building, technical assistance and peer learning, with 10 cities subsequently receiving a US$400,000 grant and further technical support to implement their projects.
The opportunity is aimed at cities with ambitious plans to improve cycling networks, particularly projects that enhance road safety, reallocate space currently dedicated to private vehicles, engage communities and encourage cycling for people of all ages and abilities.
Deadline: 14 September 2026 Learn more and apply for BICI here.
The programme is open to city, town, metropolitan or other local government authorities. The application should be submitted by the relevant government authority rather than by an NGO, university, private organisation or individual.
