The ITF Young Researcher Award honours the vital role that transport research plays in shaping sound, forward-looking transport policy. The unique Award strengthens the links between early-career researchers and the global transport policy community at the highest level.

The annual Award is a feature of the ITF Summit held in Leipzig, Germany. The 2026 edition, on the theme "Funding Resilient Transport", takes place from 6 to 8 May.

The search is on to find the 2026 winner whose work advances transport policy and innovation! If you are under 35 and tackling questions around the Summit theme, this is your chance to gain international recognition. The winner is awarded during the ITF Summit in the presence of transport ministers and the leading decision makers.
