Claiming Bike-Walkable Zero Zones to School

Project theme: Sustainable, Inclusive and Active Mobility (SIAM) solutions

BY ROBERTO JOSUÉ RODRÍGUEZ SANTIAGO

This project strengthens Vision Zero for Youth by promoting safer school journeys by walking and biking in the three most underserved school zones of San Luis Potosí. It aims to prevent avoidable deaths and injuries through bicycle trains, youth-led co-design of complete streets plans, quick-build asphalt art interventions, and advocacy for safety-based planning.

Each school establishes a road safety committee and nominates a youth representative to a citywide observatory to push for systemic change. The project delivers safer commutes, empowered youth advocates, and a replicable model for inclusive mobility, active transportation, and spatial justice rooted in community and culture.
