Charting a Safer Course: The Youth Coalition Welcomes 23 Young Leaders in Madrid

The Youth Leadership Retreat on Road Safety is a 4-day workshop focused on strengthening the current leadership structures. It brings together the Youth Coalition's leadership structure to;

• Build a cadre of road safety advocates and leaders and develop the necessary capacities, awareness, and abilities so that they act as 'facilitators of change' in road safety within their respective roles

• Develop a concrete Leadership Structure Plan in response to the Youth Coalition's strategy

• Offer a networking opportunity for the Youth Coalition's leadership structures

  What are the Youth Coalition Leadership Structures? 
  The Leadership Structures are linked to a member's journey within the Youth Coalition. The Leadership Structures provides a framework for young leaders to take an active part in the youth and road safety movement. It also allows them to cultivate their leadership abilities through the development of their skills, expertise, and passion toward shared goals and objectives of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 and the Global Youth Statement for Road Safety. 

What will happen during the Youth Leadership Retreat? 
The Youth Leadership Retreat will host interactive activities, facilitated training sessions, artistic interventions, working group activities, and discussion panels that will cover topics in meaningful youth participation, road safety, sustainable mobility, and the Global Goals.  

Who will facilitate the Youth Leadership Retreat?
The Youth Leadership Retreat is hosted by the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety. The Retreat will be facilitated by the YOURS - Youth for Road Safety Capacity Development Team Manpreet Darroch and Laura Daniela Gomez. They are the team behind the YOURS Academy, our online road safety learning platform. 

Manpreet Darroch has over 10 years of experience running similar workshops all across the world and as the lead facilitator of the retreat, will work with his colleague Daniela Gomez to walk participants through a bespoke, specially designed educational curriculum using the multi-award-winning YOURS Capacity Development methodology.
