UNITED NATIONS CAREERS: Programme Support Intern

The UN Economic Commission for Europe has an opening for a Programme Support Intern position in Geneva. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety and the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF).

As an intern, you will contribute to important initiatives, including conducting research on road safety, drafting communications, and supporting events. This position provides valuable experience in the intersection of road safety and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Please note: This is an unpaid internship opportunity. Costs related to travel, accommodation, and living expenses must be covered by the intern or their sponsoring institution.

Road Safety on Five Continents 2025 conference: Call for Abstracts

The RS5C conference, taking place from September 3 to 5, 2025, will bring together global experts and stakeholders to exchange knowledge on key road safety challenges and innovations. As part of the Conference, the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) and the University of Leeds are pleased to invite authors to submit their abstracts to the RS5C conference in Leeds, UK, 3-5 September 2025.

RS5C aims to be a leading source of research results, information and interaction in the road transport area with a focus on safety and health associated with road transport. By providing a platform for sharing knowledge and a forum to discuss mutual problem and their solutions, researchers, officials and other stakeholders can learn from results, experiences and success stories.

The call is open until 19 January 2025.


TIME FOR CHANGE: TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD

The International Council on Alcohol, Drugs, and Traffic Safety are opening a call to submit study abstracts. This call will allow individuals in the field to submit a summary of the work and research they wish to present at Time for Change (T2025). The call is open to all individuals, including those who responded to the call for symposia. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated independently from the call for symposia. Individual submissions will be clustered according to the major topics listed below. Abstracts submissions must be in English only.

The Global Road Safety Leadership Course (GRSLC) is a two-week biannual course that aims to build leadership capacity to design, advocate for, and implement effective road safety programmes and policies. It is offered by the Global Road Safety Partnership and Johns Hopkins University’s International Injury Research Unit (JH-IIRU).

Road Traffic Injury Prevention and Control in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

This free, online training certificate program is comprised of six required multimedia educational modules, and one advanced module, this comprehensive program covers a wide range of topics. This is an ongoing program offered by the John Hopkins University.
