Youth Coalition Delegates lead Power Panel at SDG Summit

Our SDG Summit Delegate Alison Collard de Beaufort joined the Unlocking the Next Generation of Changemakers Panel which was part of the SDG Action Weekend. The topic was on Shared Ambitions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Moderated by Alison Collare de Beaufort, the panel drew over forty young innovators, policymakers, and global champions who shared concrete ideas and other solutions about how they could propel and further SDG progress.

“Imagine the 2030 Agenda as a baton in a worldwide relay race. Do you think we're passing it effectively across communities and generations? How can we turn this relay into a more rewarding and fair race that gets everyone excited and engaged about the promise of the SDGs, making sure all countries are able to finish?” - Alison Collard de Beaufort

The panel is part of the SDG Summit Side Event ‘Unlocking the Next Generation of Changemakers’ - a high-level event designed to accelerate SDG delivery and lay the groundwork for the Summit of the Future through intergenerational collaboration.

The goal is to create a platform that brings together young people, the UN, Member States, and global champions. “Together, we can identify concrete opportunities and solutions to accelerate the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and prepare for the future.”

The side event and the panel will generate opportunities for stakeholders, UN entities, and Member States to convene inside the United Nations Headquarters and set out specific commitments and contributions to drive SDG transformation between now and 2030.
