To prepare and motivate Coalition members to join the call for proposals for Local Actions, winners from the 2020 Impact Generator Challenge shared their experiences in implementing their projects with the help of the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.

First place winner – Laura Daniela Gomez, second place winner – Tumisho Selaledi, and third place winner – Haidarsho Makulshoev talked about how the Coalition not only provided them with funding but also with mentorship and partnership support throughout the duration of their projects.

β€œThe Global Youth Coalition was always there to support, to give mentorship, and facilitate alliances with partners that could strengthen our project
”
— Laura Daniela Gomez

Tumisho talked about how the Coalition helped her and her team from the Society of Road Safety Ambassadors open doors for them in terms of meeting high-level leaders from their country.

β€œWe got to meet our Minister of Transport, which was something that was impossible before, but through this project – we were able to meet with the Minister of Transport”
— Tumisho Selaledi

Haidarsho shared how the Coalition helped with the more technical side of the project like budget planning and establishment of partnerships. He also talked about how the Coalition helped catch the attention of potential supporters that help brought his project to a different level.

To give members more time to build and polish their project proposals, the Coalition has extended the deadline to Sunday, February 21 at 5 PM CET.
