Improve your leadership with our latest capacity development session!

Join us this Thursday, 16 June, from 2 pm to 4 pm CEST for our latest capacity development session on leadership. We are going into the nitty-gritty of what makes a good leader. During this session, we will help give you a better understanding of what leadership involves and provide you with different tools and perspectives that will help improve your skills and abilities in this particular department.

With our creative and interactive session, you will learn a key approach to how you can become a leader and how you can overcome the challenges that come along with the position. Together, we will reflect on how we can all incorporate the learnings we will gather into our real-life actions and projects as young road safety leaders.

Through the session, members will come away with certain approaches that will help them understand the leadership process, identify key strategies that can strengthen these approaches, learn from success stories of people that have influenced positive change on social issues, and reflect on how they can improve their leadership skills to foster change within their communities.

The session will feature three-time local actions winner, Laura Daniela Gómez, project manager of Despacio. She will talk about a certain kind of leadership, expounding on it as one of the key approaches young people could take within their respective organizations. She will also talk about her experiences in leading three successful local action projects in her hometown of Bogota, Colombia. 

She will go through some examples that inspired her winning local actions projects, share experiences of when certain types of leadership were effective for her when it came to heading her team, recall some obstacles she faced throughout the implementation of her projects, and give some reflections about the lessons she’s learned along the way. 

The session will be facilitated by YOURS - Youth for Road Safety Capacity Development Director, Manpreet Darroch and will be held via Zoom. It is exclusive for members so if you aren’t one yet, be sure to sign up to join the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety!
