1. Where are you connected right now? Tell us about the work you're doing.

I am currently in the Czech Republic where I work with the Oli Best Road Safety Organization in Ghana. We educate students, the general public, and drivers on road safety practices.

2. How did you first get involved in road safety and how long have you been working in the road safety and sustainable mobility field?
A lot of people lose their lives at the risk of road crashes in Ghana - after suffering crashes, some people are even subjected to amputations because of the severity of the crash. The majority of people involved in road crashes are breadwinners for the family so when a breadwinner dies or becomes permanently disabled, the future of the people who depend on them is uncertain. Most of the dependents become school dropouts while others get into social vices to survive. Quality road safety education can prevent this.

This is how I got involved in road safety with the Oli Best Road Safety Organization. I have been working in the road safety and sustainable mobility field for five years now.

3. Can you tell us a little about your area's road safety and sustainable mobility situation?
In my field of work, we focus on educating students in schools, talking about road safety to the general public, reaching out to drivers’ associations at their meeting places, and more.

4. Why do you think it's important to include young people in road safety efforts?
I believe that once a positive culture gets into the life of a young person, it stays with them and they pass it on to future generations.

5. Are there any other updates on your work you would like to share?
Now we have started visiting churches where we ask for slots to educate the congregations about road safety.

6. Why did you join the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety?

I wanted to join the young leaders effecting change as members of groups and also as individuals. I also want to share my experiences on road safety and learn from others so that I can replicate their best practices in my country, Ghana.

7. What are your comments on the Youth Coalition? Its activities? Its opportunities?
The Youth Coalition is a community of great minds where one can share ideas, learn from others, and replicate solutions in their countries.

8. Any messages for people who have not yet joined the Youth Coalition?
The Youth Coalition is simply the best. Road crashes kill more people than the most deadly diseases we fear so much. Come, let us save lives on the road together.
