retorno seguro a la escuela
BY Ana Rodriguez FROM MEXICO
Retorno Seguro a la Escuela (Safe return to school challenge)
The project consolidates the efforts from the Safe Return to School program, developed last year by young activists and also one of the winning local actions projects last 2021. This round will focus on the mobilization of key actors and advice to authorities to create municipal public policies to build roads that do not kill our dreams.
Retorno Seguro a Clases will address the challenges for youth activists in Mexico. The implementation of Retorno Seguro a Clases will lead to road safety projects that addresses the issue of dangerous school zones. The project will involve the schools in the generation of local diagnoses, tactical urbanism interventions, and in committing and working with authorities to guarantee a safe return to schools in a post-pandemic world.
The goal of the project is to guide three teams of young leaders and activists in an annual process of influencing municipal public policies which scales up the impact of the pilot projects in other cities.
