MEET THE ROAD SAFETY AMBASSADORS

The Road safety Ambassadors are the youth leaders in-charge of organising the 3rd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety happening in
Marrakech, Morocco on February 2025.

In their roles, the Ambassadors will shape messages about the global youth movement to other fields; recruit youth for the movement; engage media to highlight the role of youth; use your voice to amplify campaign messages, facilitate onstage during the Assembly, potentially including emceeing speeches, trainings, panels, or exhibit, or other public speaking, and advocate to government and global decision-makers for the sustainable mobility agenda, potentially including as a speaker at the WHO Global Ministerial Conference

 

 

MEET STEPHEN KOME FONDZENYUY

Stephen is youth leader for Cameroon  and road safety activist with a strong background in legal advocacy and public policy. His expertise in navigating complex legal frameworks and his passion for sustainable mobility have driven significant changes in local and national road safety policies. Stephen’s analytical skills and legal knowledge are crucial for the development of comprehensive safety strategies.

Stephen is an advocate for international development and has experience at the World Bank as a transport consultant. He collaborated with different task teams in planning, preparing, and supervising transport projects to ensure that the outcomes are safe, smart, and climate-resilient. He is also an SDG 11 Champion for the Youth Coalition, contributing to mainstreaming road safety in sustainable development goals.

He is inspired by the need to curb the global challenge of road crashes in developing countries and, as a result, pursues research on speed management for low- and -middle-income countries. With his research group, Centro di Ricerca Per Il Transport E La Logistica (CTLup), he develops and provides innovative road safety solutions to different African regions.
