Introduction
The Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety, YOURS - Youth for Road Safety and TotalEnergies Foundation are taking to social media to launch #ArtforRoadSafety, the first challenge for safer mobility on the African continent.
The #ArtforRoadSafety challenge will be held in Egypt, Uganda and Senegal. Its purpose is to change behaviors and empower young people to raise awareness on road safety through artistic intervention.
Young people will then take ownership of road safety issues in their areas and become local ambassadors in the most creative and original way possible.
The artists and their messages
elna2ash
Ahmed Fathy (Elna2ash) is an internationally celebrated artist. His work represents famous Egyptian figures through graffiti in the streets of Downtown Cairo. His message focuses on how speed is the main killer on the roads.

Zeinixx
Dieynaba Sidibé (Zeinixx) is the first female graffiti artist of Senegal. She is known internationally for her mural work empowering women. Her message focuses on slowing down, saying that it helps avoid fatal road crashes.

Robert is a Ugandan dancer, breakdancer, choreographer, and teacher. He uses dance and art to tackle cultural issues. His message is about the importance of wearing helmets to save lives of individuals, friends, and family.

THE ART for road safety CHALLENGE
The objective of the challenge is to carry out innovative awareness actions on road safety in Africa using creativity, art practices and social media.
The challenge is to recreate or reinterpret the road safety messages through the dances and art works created by the artists throughout the duration of the campaign.
You can use your phone to record the videos and to upload your submissions on your social media channels. Tag the Global Youth Coalition (@claimingour.space) and use the #ArtforRoadSafety.

Reinterpret Elna2ash's graffiti by painting, drawing, or sketching it. You can do this manually or digitally. Follow these instructions to join:
Take a picture of your artwork or record a video of you creating it to post on your social media channels. Have fun and be creative!
Post the artwork on your channels and tag the Coalition.

Week 2: uganda
Reinterpret Robert's dance! Follow these instructions to join:
Download the Yambala Helmet song at bit.ly/yambalahelmet so you can use it in your dance.
Do the dance! If you have a helmet available, use it as a prop! Have fun!
Post your dance on your channels and tag the Coalition.

Week 3: senegal
Reinterpret Zeinixx's graffiti by painting, drawing, or sketching it. You can do this manually or digitally. Follow these instructions to join:
Create a concept that reinterprets Zeinixx’s graffiti and implement it through a drawing, painting, or sketch. Do this manually or digitally. Be creative!
Take a picture of your artwork or record a video of you creating it to post on your social media channels. Post it on your channels and tag the Coalition.
