Local actions winner Providence Klugan from Amend Ghana and his team starts engaging with local stakeholders for their project, Kids Road Safety Panel (KRSP). The project focuses on educating children from selected schools in Ghana on high-risk traffic. The goal is to create a panel made up of young kids to educate, inform, and correct adults who have made road safety offenses around school zones.

Providence and his team have visited different schools in Ghana and have come up with two institutions that will be approved by partner stakeholders. The team has communicated with the National Road Safety Authority and the local police to support the project and have received verbal confirmation.

Currently, the team is focusing on creating strategies for an online campaign as a way to raise awareness on the project to get students, parents, and the general public involved in the project.

The pandemic has provided additional challenges for the implementation of the project but Providence and his team are working creatively to meet the goals and objectives of the project.
