Earlier this year, the Global Youth Coalition announced the creation of regional leaders within the organization. These regional leaders will ensure that the work of the Coalition is inclusive and responsive when it comes to regional differences across the world.

Part of the responsibilities of the regional leaders is to connect with members and engage them so that they can better get involved in the activities and opportunities within the Coalition.

Four regional meetups were held throughout the month – the European region meetup, the Latin America meetup, the Africa region youth consultations, and the Asia region meetup. All of these were held online on various platforms.

Throughout the month of August, the regional leaders met with members from their respective regions to talk about the Coalition, answer questions, and promote the Global Youth Consultations as a way to gather more youth voices.

Apart from talking about the Coalition and the work the members are doing, the regional leaders also took this time to have fun with the members through interactive games and fun getting-to-know activities.

Throughout these meetings, the members were also reminded of their responsibilities as members of the Coalition. For example, the African region held a simultaneous youth consultation between the different countries within the region through WhatsApp.

The different regional meetups were a way for the regional leaders not only to connect with the members but for the members to get to know one another.

The Coalition has nearly 600 members from 98 different countries worldwide. Join the global youth movement for road safety and sustainable mobility by joining the Coalition!
