Meaningful youth participation main theme in our upcoming IYD celebration

As a Youth Coalition, we’ve always prioritized empowering youth and highlighting the role of young people in pushing the road safety agenda forward. Through our programs and initiatives, we’ve supported our members engage with key stakeholders and in the implementation of road safety projects in their areas.

During this upcoming International Youth Day commemoration, we are celebrating the power of youth with an online session called “No more excuses: How to Work with Youth” happening on August 12, Friday, at 3 PM CEST.

We will hold a creative and dynamic online session where youth and stakeholders will reflect on the importance of meaningful youth participation in road safety and sustainable mobility and how it can be implemented.

The session will help members better identify what meaningful youth participation means as well as understand the principles, types, and structures that support it. We will also present some case studies on how different stakeholders enforce meaningful youth participation in their projects and initiatives.

We want to keep emphasizing how youth have a vital role to play in shaping their future and how they are actively contributing to road safety action in local communities and global settings. Our session will be a strong call for policymakers to start working with young people.

Through the session, we will lead dynamic conversations and creative presentations to discuss the cases for meaningful youth participation and how stakeholders can work with young people in a meaningful way.
