We are taking part in the IRF Young Professionals Summit

The International Road Federation (IRF) is holding an IRF Young Professionals Summit on September 28. The event invites all young professionals working in the road transport sector to share their experiences, projects, and ideas with their peers. It also provides youth with the opportunity to connect and engage with other young professionals working in the same field.

According to the IRF, this year’s summit will focus on emerging and future mobility trends that are responsive to the challenges in climate and sustainability. Some confirmed themes include; going electric (electric vehicles, adoption, and business models), going autonomous (connected and automated vehicles, smart infrastructure), and going active (bicycle infrastructure, multimodal transport).

Our member, Alain Ghossein from Lebanon, is joining the event as one of its speakers. Alain is a civil engineer with a Master’s degree in Highway Transportation and Traffic Engineering. He currently works at a PTV group as a mobility specialist in business development and is based in the group’s regional hub in Dubai.

Alaine advocates for safer and sustainable roads in the world. He has attended different conferences to speak about the application of road safety to create more sustainable cities.

His field of action includes building relations with government authorities, consultancies, operators, system integrators, and partners.

The topic Alain will cover will revolve around the relationships between sustainable cities and climate change. He explains that “nowadays, people are being made aware of climate change and the adverse effects it has on our survival. We must start focusing on creating sustainable cities to positively address the climate crisis.”

Speaking opportunities are open for young professionals up to 35 years old. Participation in the event is open to everyone and registration is FREE. Register to join today and catch Alain speaking about road safety, climate, and youth.
