1. Where are you connected right now? Tell us about the work you're doing.
I am currently a scholar in Hospitality Management in Botswana. I volunteer my time in conservation and road safety initiatives.

2. How did you first get involved in road safety and how long have you been working in the road safety and sustainable mobility field?
I was recruited as a volunteer in one of the motorsports events in August 2017 in my area. It really caught my attention. To date, I still continue to get opportunities to network within the field and ended up joining the Society of Road Safety Ambassadors (SORSA). Through this, I got involved in many initiatives for road safety activities which include scholar patrols and post-office outreach programs in the community. In this work, we spread and advocate for road safety. I also study Road Traffic Injury Prevention and Control in middle and low-income countries at Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit.

3. Can you tell us a little bit about the road safety and sustainable mobility situation in your area?
Through the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2020-2030, our city’s road infrastructure has become more sustainable in the way that it allows pedestrians to walk and cyclists to use their bikes. With the efforts of different road safety NGOs, we are working toward a safer community for all. However, it is still not enough. More should still be done, especially around matters of car emissions and clean air for all.

4. Why do you think it's important to include young people in local and global road safety efforts?
The youth are the future leaders of tomorrow, they want a better world where their voices are taken into consideration.

5. Why did you join the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety?
I joined the Youth Coalition to upscale and connect with the global leaders in road initiatives and also to benchmark best practices when it comes to meaningful youth engagement.

6. What are your comments on the Youth Coalition? Its activities? Its opportunities?
I’m thankful for their input and their opportunities to equip youth with the necessary tools and support to advocate for road safety locally and globally.

7. Any messages for people who have not yet joined the Youth Coalition?
The time is now! Let’s act together to be united in fighting and advocating for road safety and climate change for sustainable roads.
