You are invited to join our ARTvocacy Capacity Development Session!

The Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety is holding a capacity development session on ARTvocacy this coming Thursday, 24 March! The session will provide members of the Youth Coalition with new skills and a better understanding of how they can use art as a way to communicate messages and advocate to transform the mobility system.

The session will be held online and will take on a creative and interactive approach to encourage members to be more dynamic and bold. Youth leaders will have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of different artistic tactics to influence decision-making in their communities. They will also get the inspiration necessary to create and lead short-term actions that result in long-term impacts.

Youth leaders will be able to see how art can catalyze social change, identify artistic expressions that can help move the road safety agenda forward, identify ways how to integrate art with their work and learn from different art projects and initiatives that have influenced positive change on different social issues.

The session will be moderated by YOURS - Youth for Road Safety Capacity Development Director Manpreet Darroch and feature Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Lisa Russel founder of Create2030. The session will also have Kenneth Mulinde and Hawa Chimbugwe from Youth Arts Movement Uganda (YAMU).

Included in the session highlights would include the stories of different artists who have used their creativity for social change and road safety. It will also have some performances as a means to show how art can be used for social awareness and change.

Special note, the session is exclusive for members of the Youth Coalition, so before signing up to register, be sure to join the Youth Coalition first!
