1. Where are you connected right now? Tell us about the work you're doing.
I´m in Mexico City. We are training young activists in six cities within the country to implement an awareness strategy and gain the commitment from decision-makers to invest in road safety infrastructure in school zones.

2. How did you first get involved in road safety and how long have you been working in the road safety and sustainable mobility field?
In 2012, I started a campaign to make visible the obstruction of sidewalks by parked cars. I stuck stickers on cars with the phrase "respect the sidewalk". This is how I met several activists for pedestrian mobility in Mexico, and we have been fighting for nearly 10 years to recover our space on the street.

3. Can you tell us a little bit about the road safety and sustainable mobility situation in your area?
There is a downward trend, but it evolves very slowly and traffic accidents continue to be one of the main causes of death in the country (12.4 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants), mainly affecting pedestrians.

4. Why do you think it's important to include young people in local and global road safety efforts?
Our generation is tired of false promises and wants to transform the way we move in cities, to have a healthier future

5. Why did you join the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety?
To share the learnings that the Mexican pedestrian movement has had in these years and learn about other strategies to improve the situation in our country.

6. What are your comments on the Coalition? Its activities? Its opportunities?
I think there are many people with valuable ideas and experiences, but the distance makes it difficult to know them in-depth. I look forward to the pandemic passing to meet in person.

7. Any messages for people who have not yet joined the Coalition?
What are you waiting for? The coalition offers training and resources that can help you consolidate your initiative and give it greater visibility.
